National Nursing Home Week
Heritage Crossings of Geneva celebrated National Nursing Home Week by “Living in the Aloha Spirit.” To Hawaiians the word “aloha” has a deeper significance than just a word of greeting like hello. By living the Aloha spirit, we show others love and respect and joyfully share life in order to create a better world. Defining qualities of the “Aloha Spirit” include patience, kindness, humility and good feelings in caring about others. Embracing the Aloha Spirit will reflect how we practice “aloha” as a means to provide a harmonious environment for our residents, patients, families, staff and any person who interacts with the long term and skilled care.
All week was a busy one at Heritage Crossings. Monday the residents enjoyed Hawaiian trivia and bingo along with pineapple cake and fruit drinks. Tuesday we welcomed the community in and had our ladies salad luncheon, a huge thank you to everyone who came. Wednesday and Thursday the residents and staff enjoyed Hawaiian fun themed games from hula dancing to hula themed sumo wrestling. Friday the residents were presented with a travelogue of Hawaii.
