Heritage Crossings Earns National Quality Award
Heritage Crossings in Geneva, Nebraska was recently recognized as a 2024 recipient of the Bronze Commitment to Quality Award. This award is presented to institutions for their dedication to improving lives through quality care.
The award is the first of three through the National Quality Award Program presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living. The AHCA and NCAL honors providers across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to improving the quality of care for seniors and persons with disabilities.
“We are honored to be recognized for our commitment to quality,” said Sherri Due, administrator. “This award is made possible by the dedication of our team members working every day to provide dignity in life for our residents.”
The National Quality Award Program, implemented in 1996, is centered on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. This program assists providers of long term and post-acute care services in achieving their performance excellence goals.
The Award Program has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Providers begin the quality improvement process at the Bronze level, where they develop an organizational profile with essential performance elements such as vision, mission statement, and key strengths and challenges. Bronze applicants must also demonstrate their ability to implement a performance improvement system. Trained Examiners review each Bronze application to determine if the center has met the demands of the criteria. As a recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award, Heritage Crossings may now move forward in developing approaches and achieving performance levels that meet the Silver – Achievement in Quality Award criteria.
Heritage Crossings provides skilled nursing care, adult day care, as well as assisted living. It is a member of the Vetter Senior Living family, a Nebraska based provider founded 50 years ago by Jack and Eldora Vetter.
