“The Magic of Music”

Kitchen      Band      Alf

“The Magic of Music” was truly a special week at Heritage Crossings Assisted Living in Geneva, NE. There was an “extra special” ambiance that everyone felt when they walked through our doors. Music filled the air and colorful balloon arrangements were scattered throughout the facility. Musical notes and guitars decorated the walls, the table decorations were microphones, and ever-so joyous laughter lingered down the halls. Music filled the facility with a variety of live entertainment (included little children’s voices!), musical activities and big appetites throughout the week. Thursday, September 11th, was a special day, when eight of our residents entertained the facility with their musical talents.

The playful sound of maracas, tambourine, spoons and chimes made for magical memories that will never be forgotten. The Kick-Off to National Assisted Living Week was a BBQ. The food and entertainment was great and everyone enjoyed the accordion player who entertained as we ate. Each morning began with “music” during the breakfast hour. On Monday, the high school band performed in front of Heritage. We loved their upbeat music! The Kramer Sisters and Paul Ramp entertained in the afternoons. We had a battle of the bands between all the departments, with the judging done by the ALF residents. Special activities included playing musical bingo and residents exercised to the musical noodle routines.

Heritage Crossings staff and residents celebrated all aspects of “The Magic of Music” and leaves us with many wonderful memories.
